Truffles Restaurant and resident lounge bar once witnessed a hive of farming activity - very different from today’s use! In the 1800’s and early 1900’s it was used to stable shire horses and was home to farm workers. The shire horses were used to work the land and pull the carriages of the late Mr Clapp; Great- Grandfather to the current owner.

A very different story is told today – the restaurant was launched in April 2005; opened by the local Mayor from Weston-super-Mare. Soon after the opening, the local community and schools were invited to enter a competition to name Rookery Manor’s restaurant. November 29th 2005, saw “Truffles” unveiled by the competition winner, Anne Nipper from Bleadon, Somerset. Today a plaque has been erected in her honour in the conservatory area of the restaurant.
